Valentines Day was a fun day of cooking for me. If you don’t like to cook, you still might like some of these fun ideas for holidays.
I’m sharing each of my Valentines Day recipes in separate posts. First up is breakfast and heart-shaped pancakes.
This can be little tricky. The first one I made was too small, so I made the others larger. Once you use your spoon to “draw” a heart with the batter. Pour batter in the middle to fill in the heart.
FYI … this can be done for any holiday or shape. On my kids’ birthdays, I make number pancakes for their new age.
I had leftover toasted coconut and toasted pecans, so I used those in our pancakes. You can use whatever filling you like. Obviously, if your child doesn’t like coconut, don’t put it in their pancakes.
Usually, our kids had to eat whatever I made, but these pancakes were easy to adapt. It’s easy to meet each child’s individual tastes in this meal.
After making a heart-shaped pancake, I made a regular pancake. When it was ready, I heated the heart pancake for 5 seconds in the microwave.
The heart-shaped pancake goes on top the round one. Pretty presentation.
Pour your favorite syrup or topping on your pancakes and enjoy! You’ll get all sorts of flavors as you eat. A casual white chocolate chip will suddenly appear or the deliciousness of strawberry & coconut will be in your mouth.
What do you serve for special breakfasts?
