Are you looking for some creative ways to teach the Bible to your kids? My kids loved crafts, so I often use kids Bible crafts to teach a Biblical principle.
When I was in El Salvador last week, we had a late Christmas celebration so our VBS lessons were centered around the Christmas story. You can use these Bible activities & kids Bible crafts for a variety of lessons.
Light of the World – Kids Bible Craft
I found this simple craft in Truth in the Tinsel. It’s actually Day 1 activity as you begin Advent. What a great place to begin Advent. Or, you can use it whenever you teach Jesus as the Light of the World.
If you want the pattern, you can find it in Truth in the Tinsel
Candy Cane Bible Craft
We read the Candy Cane story to our kids in El Salvador last week. I actually found it in Spanish from Seed Faith Books as a powerpoint. The kids had never seen us present a Bible story as a powerpoint, so they paid close attention.
How about those bananas?
Yep, they really grow down there!
So, what is The Candy Cane Story?
One dark November night a stranger rides into a small prairie town. Who is he? Why has he come? The townspeople wish he were a doctor, a dressmaker, or a trader. But the children have the greatest wish of all, a deep, quiet, secret wish. Then a young girl named Lucy befriends the newcomer. Then, what happens? You’ll have to read the book to discover the ending.
This is an excellent tool to share the Gospel with your kids’ friends. Or you can read The Legend of the Candy Cane Story.
After reading the story, why not make a candy cane ornament. We made one with pipe cleaners and beads. The kids loved it!
In fact my 2 year old granddaughter made this same craft. She loves putting the beads on pipe cleaners. So, this Bible craft is great for all ages.
You can get the red beads here and the white beads here. You’ll also need pipe cleaners that you can find here.
