2-Day Flash Sale – Help Follow God

When a person believes on the Lord Jesus Christ, there is a fundamental change in his nature. He truly wants to please God and is excited to learn about Him any way he can.

Every time the church doors are open and in every Bible study offered, he is there.
He listens to every podcast he can get his hands on.
He can not spend enough time with God’s people.

But something happens along the way.

He is like the mountain climber whose goal is to reach the summit of a high mountain. When starting out, he can see the summit and the way is clear. But soon he realizes that it will not be a straight shot to the top! There are forests on the mountain to find his way through. This mountain has creeks that have to be crossed and glaciers higher up that will have to be traversed. To survive the cold nights, he stay in camps that may be off his intended path.

At the beginning he could see the summit and the way was clear. But now, half way up the mountain, he can no longer see his goal. He has lost his bearings and soon becomes confused and lost. Each step, every decision, either advances him closer to the top or farther away from it. In desperation he continues on. “Any activity is better than none, right?” Sadly he realizes too late, that instead of heading upwards to the summit, in his confusion, he has hiked away from it and is no closer to the top than when he started.

We are like that mountain climber.

We begin our Christian walk with enthusiasm and a clear purpose. But soon we realize that, like that mountain, the Christian life it is not a straight shot to the top. As we become immersed in the day-to-day living of the Christian life, we catch fewer and fewer glimpses of our goal. We struggle through detours, hardships and dead ends.

All of these obstacles confuse and dishearten us, for by now, it has been a long time since we have actually seen the summit. We know that it is there, but we are beginning to think that it may be impossible to reach.

For this reason, Stephen wrote Making Biblical Decisions. . . to help believers discover how to make decisions to honor and glorify God. Let’s face it. You can tell the maturity of a believer by the decisions he makes.

Why do Christians tend to make such poor decisions?

How can we be sure that the decisions we make are pleasing to God and not just based on our feelings, circumstances or other’s opinions?

How can we be sure that we are in the will of God?

Read and be challenged about the way we should make everyday decisions according to the Bible – ones we are sure will please our Lord and Master!

Sometimes in our lives, no matter how old we are or how long that we have been a child of God, we make decisions based on what we want for our lives, not what God wants for us. We forget that no matter how BIG or small the decision, that we should ALWAYS talk to God and follow His direction for our lives.

I would recommend this book to all Christians whether they are babes in Christ or have been walking with God for many years. Making Biblical Decisions is a good resource to use along with the Bible to learn how to consult with God when making decisions. It would also be good for the backbone members of a church to use as a reminder of how we as Christians should regard God in our daily decision making. ~~Bridget Jones, TEACH Magazine~~
