Make a digital Photo Memory Book. Allow your kids to learn about graphic design as they use the software for your photo book. If you’re in a hurry, just log into Walgreens and use one of their templates. Your kids can edit the templates so it’s a special, unique memory book for Mom. When you’re done, be sure to order a printed copy to give Mom on Mother’s Day.

Handprint Bouquet Painting

Paint your child’s hand and let him paint the canvas. Clean his hand and paint another color. After the handprint flowers dry, let your kids paint stems & leaves. They might even add a special bow around the stems. Be sure to have your child sign and date their painting with a sharpie.

Fingerprint or Handprint Family Tree

Create a fingerprint or handprint family tree by using ink pads and paper. Using markers or paint, draw your tree and branches for your fingerprint flowers to sit upon. Have each family member add their fingerprint as leaves on the branches of the tree. This heartfelt artwork will serve as a reminder of the love and bond shared within your family. Remember to date this artwork. You could even repeat this activity every few years.

Homeschool Tie-In

Spend the week, learning about fingerprints. Challenge your kids to learn 5 things about fingerprints.

Clay Handprint Keepsake

Capture your child’s handprint in clay to create a lasting keepsake. Roll out some air-dry clay, press your child’s hand into it, and let it dry. Once hardened, paint it with Mom’s favorite colors and add a ribbon for hanging. Sign the back of your art creation.

Watercolor Silhouette Portrait

Create a stunning watercolor silhouette portrait by tracing your child’s profile onto paper and painting it with watercolors. Frame it for a beautiful and personal Mother’s Day gift that Mom will adore.
