Something NEW: Miracles from God in 2021?

Free Life Skills Leadership Summit

I wrote this post on January 1, 2020, but I think it applies very much to 2021. After the year 2020 was, we all need miracles from God in 2021. I’ll be back this week to share the new things that God did for me … many blessings & miracles from God.

Happy New Year!

As I begin a new year & a new decade, I believe we will see miracles from God in 2020. Let me share what happened this morning & why I believe we will have miracles this coming year.

Before I started praying this morning, I noticed a WhatsApp message. For those of you in the states, WhatsApp is the app everyone else in the world uses to text each other. My college friend who now lives in Panama sent me this verse:

“See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness
and streams in the wasteland.”     Isaiah 43:19  NIV

It was just the verse I needed this morning as I consider a new year.  God is doing a new thing in my life. I’m watching for those miracles from God this year.

But that’s not all . . .

A few years ago, Gentry gave me a jar of verses that sits by my bed. Each time I sit on that side of the bed, I choose a verse and read it. What do you think today’s verse was … one hour after I received a verse on WhatsApp?

Do not remember the former things,
Nor consider the things of old.

Behold, I will do a new thing,
Now it shall spring forth;
Shall you not know it?
I will even make a road in the wilderness
And rivers in the desert.”   Isaiah 43:18-19  NKJV

What do you think? Just a coincidence?

Twice in less than an hour, the exact same verses were given me.

I believe God is saying, “Kerry, I’m doing miracles in your life, in your family, in My work in El Salvador.” Miracles from God in 2020!

What’s going on in your life?

  • Are your kids constantly questioning everything?
  • Are your kids rebelling against God?
  • Is your marriage falling apart? Or simply dull & dry?
  • Are you grieving the loss of a loved one?
  • Do you feel left out at church or in your co-op?
  • Are you struggling to make ends meet? More bills than money at the end of each month?
  • Does God seem distant? No joy in your life?
  • Are you carrying around a past secret you can’t bear to share with anyone?

The last six weeks of my life have been difficult, challenging and painful.

But God!

God continues to walk with me, giving me His joy and peace. It hasn’t been easy. I’ve completely embarrassed myself with my selfishness, on several occasions.

But God!

I believe 2020 will be a year of change because God will perform miracles of reconciliation within our family. He will restore what the locusts have been eating for several years. He will make rivers of living water in the deserts of our lives. The desert of suffering and trials.

You may be thinking, “How do you know God will do miracles in 2020?” One of our interns asked me the exact same question about my family reconciling. My answer to her . . .

Faith!

I can’t explain it. It’s only faith in God & His Word. Oh, I do have my doubts that we will really see miracles from God. That’s when I say, “Help my unbelief.”

And to continue this morning, the verse of the day is …

“But forget all that—
it is nothing compared to what I am going to do.

For I am about to do something new.
See, I have already begun! Do you not see it?
I will make a pathway through the wilderness.
I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.”   Isaiah 43:18-19  NLT

God never stops working in our lives or our families. Even when we don’t see Him working, He is there, patiently working out everything for our good.  Hey . . . I’m preaching to myself. I have to remind myself of that truth daily.

God is working. He never abandons. He loves steadfastly.

Any trials you & I are walking through are nothing, compared to what God is going to do in 2020.  He’s already begun to work in you, your marriage, your kids, your family.

Miracles from God in 2020

In the middle of the NLT version is a phrase I will pay attention to in 2020:
Do you not see it?

Back in 2016, my brother encouraged me to “pay attention” to my thoughts, feelings, emotions. Paying attention was my motto for over a year. God honored my desire to pay attention to my thoughts. Now, I’m less likely to let the enemy take over my mind. I can resist his attacks.

In 2020, I plan to pay attention to seeing God’s work in our family.  Too often, we scurry through our days and activities, missing what new things God is doing.

We miss the pathway He is creating in our wilderness. We miss the rivers of living water in the dry wasteland of our lives. Which means we miss the joy, peace and freedom God has to offer.

I can’t wait to see what miracles from God come our way.
