Merry Christmas! It’s the most wonderful time of the year … time to have joy at Christmas. But is it possible?
Today we celebrate Jesus’ birth. What more is there to give joy. But how do you have joy when you’re busy or overwhelmed … when life isn’t easy.
Normally, I share family stories of how we are enjoying Christmas, rejoicing in our Savior. But this year, I want to share how God gives joy when life is challenging, disappointing or painful.
Maybe your marriage is struggling
Maybe you have someone missing at your table
Maybe you’re depressed
Maybe you are overwhelmed from all the preparations
Maybe you’re alone today
Maybe your feelings have been hurt from rejection or abandonment
Maybe you have relationships falling apart
Life really can be very challenging and disappointing, so I made this video to share how I found joy at Christmas …
In your presence there is fullness of joy. Psalm 16:11
In the midst of disappointment, overwhelm, busyness, rejection, you will find joy in the presence of the Lord. That is the place I go when I am in the midst of difficulties or pain. I protect time with God each morning. Even when busyness happens, I find a few minutes with God.
The joy of the Lord is your strength. Nehemiah 8:10
Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. James 1:2-4
When I find joy in the presence of the Lord, I have strength to endure through all the trials, especially at Christmastime. Besides strength & endurance, joy gives me peace at holiday times. You can have peace & joy, too.
And one more video on ONE thing you can do in finding joy in the holidays.
