Come Hear Me Speak – Dallas, TX

Free Easter Class

TTD2015 DALLAS 250X250 WITH TAG

Next week I’ll be in Dallas, TX speaking at the Teach Them Diligently Conference and I couldn’t be more excited to meet up with many of you! If you haven’t had a chance to register your family yet – or if you’ve been trying to decide if you can attend, NOW is the time to register!

  • Dallas, TX – July 16-18, 2015

Maybe you’re just getting started homeschooling (there are some GREAT sessions to help you get started). Maybe you are just ready for the year to be over and done with (trust me, there are many sessions to help encourage you!). Or life is just crazy and at the moment you don’t even know where to start with homeschooling thrown in (there’s something for you too!).

From encouragement as a parent, tips on homeschooling from moms who have been there and experienced that, to sessions that will challenge you spiritually, Freedom Conference has something for every member of your family.

I am personally looking forward to meeting up with you and other homeschoolers. It is always encouraging to see so many faces that I hear about online!

And really, it’s out of my comfort zone to say ‘HEY – come hear me speak!” (and this button cracks me up), but if you are attending, I’d love to have you sit in on one of my sessions:

Approaches to Christian Homeschooling (Overview)
(Friday @ 10:30am – Lonestar A2)

Are you stuck in a rut when it comes to choosing curriculum? Do you buy the same “stuff” each year just because you used it last year? Realize that no single approach to home schooling works for all ages and all subjects. Come hear Kerry Beck use Biblical principles for selecting the right approach for your child. We will discuss how the following approaches have advantages in different subjects at different stages of your child’s development.

  • Classical
  • Charlotte Mason
  • Unit Studies
  • Biblical Principles
  • Traditional-Textbook
  • Unschooling-Resource Rich
  • Christian Leadership

Approaches to Christian Homeschooling Part 2: Traditional & Classical
(Friday @ 3:00pm – Lonestar A2)

After a quick discussion of traditional education, discover how to give your kids the tools to learn for a lifetime when you use the Classical Approach. We’ll also discuss how to use mentoring, how to match your style of teaching with where your child is developmentally, how you can give your child an elite education, even if you didn’t receive one, as well as the strengths, weaknesses & resources specific to classical education.

Approaches to Christian Homeschooling Part 3: Charlotte Mason & Unit Studies
(Friday @ 6:00pm – Lonestar A2)

Charlotte Mason believed kids should be kids. Too often in America we want to rush them through childhood and brag how smart our kids are.  Mason’s overall view of educating kids takes a more relaxed perspective of homeschool, but not dumb down your homeschool. You’ll also discover how to offer high quality activities to teach your kids by using living books, habits, narration, notebooking, play & discovery. We’ll conclude our workshop with unit studies & how to match up your homeschool with real life.

Approaches to Christian Homeschooling Part 4: Unschooling & Leadership Education
(Saturday@ 9:00am – Lonestar A1)

If you’re wanting to bring a more relaxed perspective to your homeschool, but also raise your kids to be Christian leaders, instead of followers, this workshop is for you. We’ll begin by sharing ideas of how moms can be more relaxed in their homeschooling & rest in the Lord in your homeschooling. We’ll talk about lapbooking, laying a Godly foundation for your child to become a leader, as well as how to develop a love of learning in your kids so they become leaders of tomorrow.

Hope to see you there!
