This book looks great! Would love to win a copy.
Thanks for your kind words.
Oh man…I so need this LOL! My son is stubborn definitely. I’m very much enjoying your blog as well…I’m finding a lot of great ideas.
Lori,
I think I hit a nerve with these topics. I’ve had several moms say they need this book.
I’m so glad this blog is encouraging you. If you have any topics you’d like us to cover, please let me know
I’d love to be entered!
You are entered 😉
This would be wonderful. I really need this.
April,
Thanks for your comment. I wish this was written when I was homeschooling 🙂
I school two children at home. One, my dd, has an issue remembering things even though I have taught it to her over and over and over; this is very frustrating for her and me. My ds on the other hand will avoid doing his subjects constantly and we fight over it. So much so that I am thinking of putting him back into school. He doesn’t want this to happen. I don’t know what to do to correct this. Help!
Melissa,
Thanks for sharing. Of course, there is no easy answer to our homeschooling frustrations. The number one thing I would do is PRAY! I like the idea that Tim Tebow shared in his biography about Scripture memory. The Tebow kids could not watch McGuyver (popular Sat night show in his day) until he had said his memory verses. Find something your kids love and tie their assignment to it. Might be enough of a motivation to finish it. Then, don’t fight over it. Simply enforce the consequences of not getting to do something he loves.
My middle daughter could not learn her multiplication tables…forever. I bought everything I could find to help her. How did she ever learn those times tables? I took her off formal math for a semester when she was 11 (to change her attitude towards Math). When we started math again, I gave her a times table chart. I told her she could use it any time she needed to find an answer. Eventually she got tired of looking up answers & memorized them. She makes A’s & B’s in math in college, as well as tutors some of her friends in math. Math is still her least favorite subject but she can do it. Sometimes our kids learn in their own timing.
Looks like it would be very helpful. Love to win it.
After reading all these nice comments, I think I will edit & review this book again to see if I’ve covered everything God has taught me. 🙂
No matter how long we have been homeschooling it seems each year we encounter a frustration. This sounds like a great book to have on hand for myself or to share with friends in need. Thanks!
I completely understand. Homeschooling definitely has its ups & downs. Always room to improve
I would really love to win this, but if I don’t win it, how can I purchase it?
Tamera,
Thanks for your comment. I hadn’t set this up to sell, so let me do a little work this week and make it available for purchase. Thanks for your interest.

February has dug in it’s heels with stubborness…..but it’s me and not my children. I’ve got the dullrums, but I know that I need to be motivated in order to finish the year well. I’m ready for Summer break!
Bev,
I was in a meeting yesterday and the leader said this was the longest February he could remember (& he is about 65). You’re in good company. Why not take a break next week to relax, refresh and resume the following week. We all need breaks.
Another way I took a break was to have Grace week the last week of the month. My kids studied a topic of their choice that week and had to do some sort of project to present at dinner on Saturday night. They loved it & I wasn’t under as much pressure.
Kerry — Thanks for putting this ebook together. Sometimes the obstacles to homeschooling seem insurmountable (I’m thinking of my sons’ stubborn nature), so your help is greatly appreciated!
Cynthia,
Keep trusting God to get through those hard days…and try to be consistent even in the face of stubbornness.
This looks like a great book. I just started homeschooling my 5 yo son (and 2 yo daughter) last fall. Sometimes my daughter is more eager to do school than her brother. It’s been a learning process for me already, and I’m sure in the years to come I’ll need all of the good ideas I can get.
Charlene,
Have fun right now…Hopefully you aren’t stressing over school with your 5yo. I have a friend whose son did not learn to read until 9yo. She worked with him for several years, but he wasn’t ready. By the time he got to jr high, he was reading at the same level as his peers. My son wasn’t very interested in school/academics as his sisters. A month ago, he told me he didn’t enjoy history until high school. Thank goodness he started enjoying it, even if it was later than his sisters.
I so need help on how to Homeschool my dd. She is right brain… and never wants to do school. I need ideas.
I hope this blog will encourage you with some practical tips on homeschooling. If there is a specific topic you’d like us to cover, please let me know.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experiences
through your blog. I tend to feel it is okay to let go,
relax, and breathe. Your posts make me realize it is okay.
I get so caught up with life and homeschooling that
the journey tends to feel overwhelming once in awhile.
More often than not. Thank you for doing what you do.
You are reaching out and touching some of us…and it is
appreciated.
Sometimes I forgot to enjoy the process. I was more interested in checking off the boxes & became overwhelmed. Glad this was encouraging.
This sounds wonderful! Not only do I need it but I am in charge of our local homeschool coop’s library and I’m sure there are other mothers who could use the encouragement!! Thank you for this opportunity! May God bless this ministry to other home educated families!!
Thanks for your very kind words. As a former homeschool mom, I could always use encouragement from others 🙂
Love your blog and the book! Feeling discouraged with the cold weather outside and kids having extreme cabin fever. Appreciate your encouragement!
Being coped inside can be hard…the sun will come out! We saw some today!
New to your blog. Love the look and the topics look great!
Thank yo so much! Appreciate your kind comments. Please let me know of any topics you want us to cover. If I don’t know that topic, I will find someone who is.
THANK YOU so much for the e-book! We (my 3 kids, 4 cats, 1 big dog & the 6’x 12′ U-Haul trailer) just moved back from Norfolk home to Dayton (military family), and I finally got a chance to sit down & check e-mail. What a pleasant surprise to see I won your giveaway!
Your blogs & websites have really helped me with areas of homeschooling in which I’m weak. I’ve also been inspired (and somewhat prodded by God) to follow through on becoming more of a Proverbs 31-type woman. Your husband’s Family eBiz site has helped me much in this area.
Your whole family has been a blessing to me. May the Lord continue to bless you,

Naomi,
You are so welcome. I hope Making Biblical Decisions will bless you & your family. Thanks for your kind words. I will pray as you settle into a new home.
