Workshops Kerry Can Offer You

how to homeschool my child Raising Leaders for the Future, Not Followers
Most homeschoolers continue to offer their children the same type of education they received; they just do it at home. Parents prepare their children in a public school-grade level fashion for a future job, teaching them only “what to think”. Our founding fathers received something different – a leadership education through mentoring. Leadership education trains our children “how to think” in a variety of situations. Come here Kerry Beck discuss three types of educational models, how to move from “what to think” to “how to think” in your homeschool and practical ways to implement a Biblical Leadership Education from young kids to young adults.

Leaders Are Made, Not Born: Raising Leaders from Childhood
From the early years of educating a child, you can determine whether or not you are raising a leader. Most kids who follow the conveyor-belt, public school model fulfill the government’s goal and become followers in life. Learn to go beyond the conveyor-belt and provide leadership training at a young age. Come away with specific ideas to implement leadership training, to develop the love for learning and to provide a core foundation of character in your own children.

how to homeschool my child How to Implement a Mentoring Education
Go beyond the early years of training leaders and learn how to provide self-directed study for your own children. Mentoring has been the successful model to train statesmen, entrepreneurs and community leaders. Discover clues to becoming a successful mentor to your children and to offer your children opportunities to study their own interests. Don’t be fooled by the conveyor-belt model! We all learn more when we are self-motivated to study. Use mentoring this coming year to encourage your own children to be self-motivated in their studies.

Approaches to Home Schooling
Are you stuck in a rut when it comes to choosing curriculum? Do you buy the same “stuff” each year just because you used it last year? Realize that no single approach to home schooling works for all ages and all subjects. Come hear Kerry Beck use Biblical principles for selecting the right approach for your child. We will discuss how Charlotte Mason, Classical, Unit Studies and the Principle Approach have advantages in different subjects at different stages of your child’s development.

What About College? (Kerry & Ashley Beck)
Is college for everyone? Do you have to spend thousands of dollars to receive a college degree? Is a college degree necessary for your life calling? Be challenged to discover why you should go to college and alternative ways to get a degree quickly and cheaply. Turn real life experiences into college credit. Earn credit quickly through exams. Use an independent study plan to guarantee distance-learning success. Come hear Kerry & Ashley Beck (mom & daughter) discuss their story as Ashley completes high school studies and considers what is next.

Teaching the Reluctant Writer
Many children dislike writing. Learn how to teach a specific, successful method of separating the complex process of writing into the smallest possible steps. Even the most reluctant writer will be able to produce short, but complete compositions. Remove the problem of what to write and you will free your child to learn how to write.

Using the Lost Tools of Writing
Join us as we discover how to come up with ideas, order your ideas and express your ideas. We will discuss universal problems with writing, as well as way to solve these problems. By the time you finish this workshop, you will have fresh ideas to use with your own students.

Is eBay Right for You?
Looking for business that your kids can start but don’t have a lot of money to invest? Need some extra cash for an unexpected expense or trying to pay off your credit card debt? Do you already have a business but could use more customers from all over the world? Then eBay is just for you! It is one of the best ways to teach your kids business skills while you work out of the home. You can also generate investment money for business ideas and get out of debt. Kerry Beck shares her own eBay story – how she went from selling things around the house to becoming an eBay Power Seller. Learn how to start your family business from scratch and involve your children at the same time. Then, you can reap the benefits of your hard work.

Workshops Stephen Can Offer You

A Father’s Stew: Biblical Integration of Family, Work, Ministry
A Father's Stew Biblical Integration of Family, Work, Ministry In an age where fathers are separated from their families for most of the day, how can we fulfill the biblical mandate to train our children when “you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up” (Deuteronomy 6)? Given our current culture, is it possible to integrate family, work and ministry in a biblical manner? What is God’s provision for raising godly children and what are our responsibilities? Come hear God’s vision for fathers as we are challenged from the Scripture to balance the areas of family, work and ministry and to blend these three ingredients to form a godly stew, a sweet smelling aroma to God.
Teaching Your Children About Finances and Debt
The Bible refers more to the subject of money than any other topic. Where will your children learn these important lessons about finances? Are you teaching them about finances and debt before they find themselves neck-deep in student loans, a mortgage and a $15,000 credit card debt? Come hear the biblical view of finances and debt – and how we can effectively teach this to our children.

Teaching Your Children to Start Their Own Business
How to Start Your Own Business for Families & Teens God has set us free, not to serve ourselves, but to serve Him. Part of that freedom is having a choice in what we do for a living. Even though your children may eventually work for someone else, having the skills to start their own business ensures that they can choose from a position of strength – not having to take a career that an unbelieving culture hands them. Drawing from his 19 years of self-employment, Stephen Beck will share his hard-won knowledge on how to start and maintain a family-run business. He will discuss the pros and cons of having your own business, the economics and the headaches. Above all, he will encourage you to seek to please our God in whatever situation He has called you and your children.

Importance of Teaching Life Skills To Your Children
In the Apostle Paul’s day, every Rabbi was required to learn a skill in addition to his rigorous religious training. Unfortunately, our culture has forgotten the value of possessing life skills. Many in the homeschool community are waking up to the fact that we are sending our sons and daughters into the world with very few “hands-on” skills. Do your children know how to start a business? Are you teaching them entrepreneurial skills? In today’s uncertain economic times, it is important to recession-proof your children. Do they possess skills that meet everyday needs – skills they could fall back on when hard times hit? Skills they could use to get out of the 9-5 rat race? Come hear Steve Beck, director of Life Skills Camps and owner of Curriculum Connection, encourage homeschool parents from the Scriptures to disciple their children through the agency of work and give their children the tools to serve God in whatever situation He decides to place them.

Winning The War For Our Culture
Psalm 112 describes a man whose descendants will be mighty on the earth. How do we teach our children to one day, rule and reign for their God and King, Jesus Christ? How do we train them to boldly impact the society around them instead of the other way around? Pointed, yet humorous, Stephen Beck discusses issues such as Dad’s leadership, family devotions, the importance of homeschooling, finances and avoiding debt. Learn the essentials your children must know and the entanglements they must avoid to carry out their God-given commission – the toppling of ungodly cultures and the discipleship of the nations!
Making Biblical Decisions Ranger Press
Making Biblical Decisions In Your Homeschool:
Identifying and Implementing God’s Priorities
You can tell the maturity of a believer by the decisions he makes. Why do Christians make such poor decisions? Can we ensure that our decisions are pleasing to God and not merely based on our feelings, circumstances or other’s opinions? How can we know God’s will for our lives? Come hear a challenging message on how we should make everyday decisions – ones we are sure will please our Lord and Master!

Un-Revisionist History
Can you really believe what the history books tell you about the Civil War? How does the truth still affect us today. Come hear how the war to end slavery ended up costing all Americans, black and white, their freedom. We all want to rule and reign for Christ, but after 140 years of slavery, will we know how to lead when we win the war for our culture?

Dads And The Big Picture Of Education
Throughout all of Scripture, there is a recurring theme – God’s people are to carve godly communities out of the howling wilderness. How do we build godly communities that impact and eventually overturn the culture? Are we educating our kids towards this end? What will it take, education wise, to accomplish this goal? What is the responsibility of dad in all of this? These and many other questions will be answered as we look at the big picture behind our children’s education. Come here Stephen Beck discuss the obstacles to avoid and the vision necessary to win the culture for Christ!
