How To Homeschool My Child
What are Your Goals of Christian Parenting?

What are Your Goals of Christian Parenting?

During our table talk in Sunday School last weekend, we discussed ways we can daily put our faith in God, instead of following the world. That’s what Christian parenting is all about.

Primary Goals

One of the young moms said she was reading about the importance of knowing what your goal is for your kids. We say we want our kids to grow in God, but often our daily actions follow the world. This can be true in homeschooling, too.

As you raise your kids & educate them at home, what is your “primary” goal?

  • Do you want your kids to be successful in the world?
  • Do you want your kids to be educated so they can go to college?
  • Do you want your kids to follow God faithfully?
  • Or, do you have another primary goal for your kids?

Your daily actions will exemplify your true goals. Too often we want our kids to follow God, but we make daily decisions as if job success or being accepted is most important.

  • If you are more concerned about the brand of sneakers your kids wear, your goal is that your kids are accepted by their friends.
  • If you plan all sorts of activities for your kids “outside your home”, you teach your children that “home” and “family” are not important.
  • If you stress over following the public schools, you follow the world in what education is.
  • If you allow your children to struggle through situations, you teach your children they must rely on God & put their faith in Him. As hard as it may be, character development will grow your kids in godliness.

Take a minute and review your normal day. What do your daily actions say about your true goals for your kids?

Likewise, does your homeschool truly reflect the goals you have for your kids?
